The Food and Beverage Service Programme is designed for those undergoing training or employed in the food and beverage/catering, for example in hotels, restaurants and in-company facilities. Its design is intended to reflect both the international nature of the food preparation industry and the country or culture-specific activities that are essential to meet customer needs.

This internationally recognised C&G Certificate provides a broad introduction to the theory and practical sides of food service, giving the necessary knowledge and practical experience to operate as a front line worker in a typical service outlet.

Duration (8 months)

• 2 months of day class Institute Studies
  * Theory (lectures and tutorials) and practical lesson
  *Monday to Friday (3 hours per day)
• 6 months of Industrial attachment subject to the approval of Ministry of Manpower.
  (Job training has an allowance of minimum S$600 and above. For the complete of 6 months Job training, student has a minimum of allowance S$600 x 6 months = S$3600. Overtime allowance not included.)

Examinations
C&G: twice a year (in June and November)
